Interestingly, my Criterion is also the two-disc one with the Syd Mead
gallery! Didn't realize it was Japanese! Maybe I shouldn't get rid of
   it after all.

I have at least a couple of others I definitely WON'T part with:
"Fantasia" big blue boxed set, and Disney's "Three Caballeros" boxed
set. Apparently, when the DVD's for both of these were produced, some
politically-correct censoring was done. I've read a number of comments
on Amazon.com about that. My Pioneer CLD-97 is still chugging along
nicely, but what I may do is copy these to DVD's myself against the day
   the "ole '97" dies!

I have a few other Collector's Editions that I may hang on to as well,
plus some things that have NEVER made it to DVD. One in particular is
the movie "The Villain", with "Aahnold" in one of his first roles,
Ann-Margaret, Kirk Douglas, and Strother Martin. If you don't know that
one, it's a human Wiley Coyote/Roadrunner movie. An absolute SCREAM!
