My point about the       tribal elders partly addresses this; most wiki engines provide a       revision control mechanism, so if we the elders don't like a particular       update, we can roll it back.              I think if we can set up a framework that forces people to log in and       supply a verifiable email address before they go editing stuff, we       should be able to eliminate any vandalism and/or Deck-a-Rep tomfoolery.              FWIW, I'm not suggesting this as some great democratic exercise in       information in the way that that Wikipedia is, rather I see it more as a       way of reducing the workload on any one individual in keeping the FAQ       alive, and presenting the information in a useful format.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
