   Correct, the trench run was an offshoot of the North Polar trench   
   running to the port at the North Pole. The turbo lasers and cannon   
   mounted around the North Polar trench are to defend the Northern   
   Command sector above it.

   working out the scaling issues between DS1 and DS2
