This is a DAMN good point. I would only amend it to say Deckard sees her
as a living, breathing female being. Sure, he knows she is fabricated, but
he does not care. I have always believed this was part of her appeal to him.
"Sushi. That's what my ex-wife called me....." There are indications that
before the events of Blade Runner, Deckard was a very cold and ruthlessly
efficient police officer. Mr. Nighttime. "A goddamn one-man slaughterhouse."
It could be that Deckard has a perverse sense of guilt and a limited or very
shut-down emotional capacity that make Rachel very appealing to him. Perhaps
the whole point he sees in her is that the two of them can learn to be real
human beings together, her quite literally and he emotionally. It's just a
   theory.
