   There are laundromats in SoCal that take a card, but it's specifically   
   for the machines, and I think you need to fill them with a minimum   
   purchase.  I also think I've heard of laundry rooms (in an apartment   
   complex) that do something similar; you charge the card at the   
   complex's office.   
      
   Laundromats may have less pull than McDonalds in getting the bank fees   
   per transaction lowered.
