Sometimes, when I hear people talk/say or write about the words Democrat or   
   Republican, they will sometimes say/write "lowercase d or r" or they'll   
   say/write "uppercase D or R."  In simple lay person terms, why is that?  Why   
   does that matter?  I hope    
   that I asked this in the right way, so that you understand what I'm asking.
