   What answer do you want? Over the past ten years conservative economists   
   have dropped all pretense that they have any independent theoretical   
   framework to offer. It's all about manufacturing the answer they're asked   
   to supply.   
      
   It's why they felt so comfortable offering promises that COVID was only   
   going to kill 500 people in the US. The divorce from reality was a selling   
   point, not a problem.
