I have no problem with text message spam. I get the occassional
"you've won XX" but everything else is related to normal contacts and
   my bank.

I have two mail accounts that my phone knows about; all the voicemail
goes to the one that handles mainly family mail. No problem with
   website notification.

Missed calls show up on the phone app, and the website notifications
   don't do phone calls.

All the updates I'm interested are quickly checked from the status bar
at the top of the phone screen.
