|    Impossible Burger    |

From: howddgrhol@yaynnoo.com              My local supermarket has started to carry Impossible Burgers, so I       grilled some and shared some. The uniform response was they taste like       regular burgers, close enough that without being told they probably       wouldn't have noticed.              A while back I had Beyond Burgers, and while they were close there was       still a noticible, not quite right flavor to them, but the Impossible       Burgers seemed to have gotten rid of whatever that off flavor was.              I didn't do a side by side taste test of plain ground beef burger to an       Impossible burger, so it's possible that having one on a bun with       lettuce, tomato and ketchup covers up some small differences.              I'd add that the flavor matches regular ground beef, but it's not as       good as really good ground beef, like sirloin burgers I've had. The       texture uncooked is definitely different, but once it's cooked it seems       the same.              I think the Impossible Burger came out to $7.99 a pound, which is       obviously a good bit pricier than regular ground beef. But I could see a       vegetarian who doesn't normally spend any money on meat splurging a bit       from time to time.              I'm sure they're not healthy -- the label makes it pretty clear there's       a healthy dose of fat and sodium. I've seen some online comments from       snarky meat eaters trying to knock them down, but it's hard for me to       see anything wrong with them at least as an occasional treat if that's       what a vegetarian wants.              --       This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software.       https://www.avast.com/antivirus              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
