   I was under the impression that grocery store chains did more than just   
   lend their name and had the same kind of hard core employee oversight that   
   leads the cashiers at mine to always circle the bit about the survey on the   
   receipts and say the same little ditty about it.   
      
   I could be wrong and Kroger could be different.   
      
   Since gas and groceries are both businesses of mass selling of commodities   
   where they have little control over prices, I'd think it would still be   
   smart to try to differentiate themselves in terms of customer satisfaction   
   and figure out how to smooth the purchase process.
