   There was an old joke by George Carlin that the best car safety device   
   would be spike in the middle of the steering wheel pointed right at the   
   driver's chest.   
      
   It turns out that Volkswagen had a similar idea, but it delivered   
   caffeine -- a dashboard mounted coffee pot.

   I guess in VW's defense, they maybe had a warning somewhere to not drink   
   (and brew) and drive.   
      
   It also sounds questionable whether the coffee managed to get very hot.   
   And I think the VW that had it as a custom feature was probably had only   
   a three HP motor with a top speed of about 15 mph (downhill) so there   
   wasn't much danger of it flying off in your face.
