   I don't know where you live, but cost of living is dirt cheap in eastern   
   Ohio.  That being said, I've decided that once I'm burned out on   
   winters, I'm moving south.  I've considered Tennessee, but upstate South   
   Carolina sounds really nice, and cost of living isn't absurd.  Stay off   
   the coast, hurricanes are no bueno.  I think a 1.5-2 hour weekend beach   
   trip is just about far enough.
