Of all the cable channels, I have perhaps come to appreciate TCM the most.
It's not that I'm always watching -- far from it. But I always scan the
listings to see what's on, because they occasionally offer some obscure,
interesting material. Movies like Zabriskie Point, for example, or the
   travelogue shorts on Saturday morning.

I don't think the current fragmentation can last. The also-ran streaming
services are going to see their share dwindle in favor of two or three of the
biggest ones. Then perhaps someone will persuade the second-tier companies
to be aggregated into a bundle. The monthly fee will be more than subscribing
to two or three services, but less than the whole package would cost if
purchased individually. There will be consolidation and mergers. Eventually
   we
will be back to just one or two video entertainment providers, except content
will be on-demand and delivered over the Internet via IP, not as a separate
television service on the coax. And of course, the subscription fee will rise
to approach the level of cable bills today.
