   Same in Washington DC, USA.  My sister had he wedding down there on the   
   first weekend in April, when the trees had started blooming.  Japan   
   donated thousands of cherry blossom trees to the US decades and decades   
   ago, some time after WWII, IIRC.  Japan still replaces the trees as they   
   die.
