   If they frame the shot so everything that needs to be seen can fit in a 4:3   
   ratio, but also use the same shot   
   for the 16:9 ratio picture but with additional information on the sides,   
   everything will be too far away in HDTV.   
   They could have one camera filming in a 4:3 framing for regular broadcast   
   and another camera filming in a 16:9 framing for hi-def broadcast,   
   but that would be a pain in the producer's ass.   
   I don't know how the Tonight Show handles this situation as it also   
   broadcast in hi-def for quite some time.   
   I assume they do the former of using the same shot for both 4:3 and 16:9,   
   since I think saw everything is further away on a HDTV.   
   Hey, they could have pan & scan the show for the regular TV broadcast
