      From: sandman89@webtv.net              andy was sort of what ed mcmahon was to johnny carson but andy was much       funnier and wittier than ed. andy would come up with some funny comments       and was good to bounce stuff off of for conan. the "staring contest"       they used to do (conan and andy) was hysterical.              andy was there for several yrs but i guess he was willing to leave a       good and safe gig to spread his wings, go out on his own and take a       chance. i kinda think he didn't think the show would last as long as it       has =) conan's show was pretty rough for the first year and a half or       so.                            "I am not a tough guy.
