Normal set, actual full-size skeletons. It was pretty fun.

The clay animation show was May 15, 2003, according to what I have
written on the videotape label. Someday I will transfer my Conan VHS
tapes to DVD, just as soon as I'm able to get my hands on a device that
converts analog video to digital video. (I'm still paying off the
credit card bill for my shiny new computer, but once the fat paychecks
start coming in from my new employer...)

Two other problems I can see with doing a new show as clay animation,
skeletons, or whatever: first of all, the guests would pretty much have
to be of the Abe Vigoda or Dr. Joyce Brothers variety, because you
couldn't get too many "big-name" guests to agree to it. And second, the
temptation would be there to expressly tailor the comedy and
conversation toward the show's final form, and I think that would be
less funny than using the audio of an old episode, which allowed it to
   be played straight.
