From: nebusj-@-rpi-.edu              Conologue:        - Cute mime training for Max.        - Nice yet still nasty joke about Bush and the Indians.        - Good grief, cocaine being sold through an Army       recruiting office? Seriously?        - Saw the ``unknown singer'' joke marching up Broadway,       but it's still a solid one.        - I like Conan playing with the boundaries of the screen.                      Walkover Music:        The Little Drummer Boy                     Christmas Decorations:        About time! Good grief. I know they don't want to date       the shows too badly for reruns, but one week isn't enough. But       having the little menorah is adorable.                     Tourists at Dateline NBC:        Fun little bit. I know they've done variations on this       in past years, but it just doesn't age.                     Conan's Christmas Cards:        - Larry King: You know, raccoons really aren't native to       Bethlehem. Just saying.        - Kirstie Alley: I'm sorry Andy wasn't here to riff on       them.        - Michael Richards: In his picture he looks like he's       turning into Detective Munch.        - Madonna: I've missed quick jokes like that.        - Saddam Hussein: It was read well on Conan's part, you       know.        - Mark Foley: That's the least convincing card; the       others look more authentic.        - Mel Gibson: Nice quick punch. What is with celebrities       this year?        - Britney Spears: Oh, that's such a lovely late Christmas       sentiment.        Where did that apple (or whatever it was) Conan gave away       come from? have they been handing out a lot of snacks lately?                       Patricia Heaton:        ``We All Need Somebody to Love'' as intro music; I love       it.               I'll forgive the jeans as she showed having late panicked       thoughts about the sheer outfit, although against the matte       painting it wasn't easy to see the dress. Otherwise, please,       folks, it's network TV, not casual night at Burger King.               Peter Boyle. It does sound like they had a fun time on       the set. Is anyone surprised at Young Frankenstein being one of       Conan's favorite movies? (I accidentally typed Young Einstein,       which I could also kind of see.) What kind of person has a       defibrilator at home? Admittedly, these things have gotten       sophisticated enough nearly anyone can use them, from what I       gather.               Checking her son's e-mails, though, and text messages ...       I'm sorry; that's quite obnoxious. Kids deserve reasonable       privacy. Serves her right to not understand the lingo, not that       anyone understands them.                            Mulligan's Trans-fat Speakeasy:        Funny bit, but they missed on the editing and failed to       show the inspector actually entering the place. Just the hazards       of live-on-tape.                            Jason Ritter:        Much better outfit, yes. I know the sort of problem with       gifts being easy to get at random times of year, but not knowing       what to do with Christmas. My gifts this year were a pretty       unimaginative bunch, I'm sad to say.               Ah, so he is related to John Ritter; that makes sense.       When I was a kid I had parts of Three's Company I liked, but it       was also the first show I ever turned off because I could see how       the setup was going to pay off and I didn't want to see it.               Talking about awkward dates: obviously an easy thing for       Conan.                      Tony Bennett:        Always a delight. They don't have him around enough. I       liked the bit of giggling in the bit. The snow was a neat touch       but a bit too understated; it only showed up in the closer shots.               I love him talking about his influences and had no idea       he was on the initial Tonight Show with Johnny Carson; I'd never       heard that. Neat that he able to introduce such an iconic song       for that.                     Credits:        It's so weird seeing the normal-proportion screens with       the NBC 2000 squeezed credits to the side.               Did you catch the fake-foods.com plug?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
