|    23 January 2007 - Orlando Bloom, Campbel    |

From: nebusj-@-rpi-.edu               This was a rerun of the 29 June 2006 episode, again one that I       happened to see and very briefly reviewed, although again that didn't       appear so I might as well reprint it here.                      Conologue: Bush joke was routine. Star Jones: routine, but       helped with the waddle. World Cup Soccer joke, again, routine. The       tooth-growing joke had a better punchline than I expected.               The gift of the shuttle patch: Hey, neat. Steve Wilson looked       ready to be an action movie's villain.               World Cup Mascots: I'm tired of jokes about the Surrendering       French. It's bad history to start with, and really tired. The horn       player was stronger for its surprising oddness value. The Togo Child       To Be Adopted By Angelina Jolie was funny, and adding the phone call to       the end added a funny bit of meanness to it. Death Trying To Assemble       A Chair From Ikea was cute, although I never found Ikea stuff hard to       assemble.               Orlando Bloom: I couldn't much get into the World Cup talk; I       think I've had enough conversations about how every other country loves       soccer and the US just doesn't care. Getting into acting class talk,       that's more personal and unique, and I think we can all imagine what       it'd be like going back to that class, even if we've got absolutely no       useful acting skills. The Pirates movie looks fine, although the first       one felt like it was merged with its own sequel. Overall I was a bit       distracted since my brother Ted wanted to chat with me.               Campbell Brown: Interesting comments about hanging out with       'President' Bush. It's fascinating seeing the quirky human sides of       people known only by the image they project, but it also raises the       question: presidents and vice-presidents are invariably described as       being warmer and funnier than their public images. Why don't they show       that side of themselves? The talk about getting stylish, or feigning       style, was also good. Real news people usually have the knack for being       interesting whatever they're talking about. Conan didn't own a suit:       funny. Sounds true.               Cheap Trick: Energetic song, with really distractingly active       background. I wondered if it'd wake up my dad. The picture's a great       touch, but the Conan figure there could just as easily be Jay Leno.       And again they have the closing credits right from the last sketch.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
