    I don't know how I missed the mention of this before. Clearly   
   I'm off my game. I've *looked* at equipment to send television into   
   my computer, but always come down to concluding it'd be easier just to   
   buy a DVD-R if I really wanted to preserve something.

    Well, that'll happen. After all, he was invented in 1963,   
   when they had barely worked out the kinks in compatible color. You   
   can actually see the phase information in his Merv.
