I had also meant to say thank you to you, Joseph, for posting the
highlights b/c that is how I catch up when the dvr doesn't record. I
used to be able to record those the next week in the 3 a.m. time slot
but now they have the poker after dark. Anyway, when I was just
trolling and not writing yet, I did see one post where you mentioned any
ideas others might have for the reviews. I would say to post the name
of the cross-over song whenever you know it. I know you sometimes do
and sometimes Conan says the name of the song. I probably recognize
about 2/3 to 3/4 of what Max and the band play, but when I "know I know
it" but can't quite think of it, it drives me nuts. Once in a great
while the captioner will put it on b/c I'll run it back and try that,
   but they usually don't.

I've thought about the 12:37 thing and have tried to see if I could
bypass the problem by telling it to start 5 or 10 mins early, but I can
only do it in those type increments (just end up with more of Leno).
I've also set it to tape Leno for 30 mins extra as the dvr can and does
tape two programs simultaneously, but 30 mins is the outer limit and I
have to hope it taped Leno that night to even get that. I can't tell it
an exact time to start in terms of putting it in as a timer like I used
to do on the vcr. My best guess is that either nbc doesn't start it at
the exact time every night even tho it could be just a matter of seconds
and that sometimes that exceeds the "window" Verizon has for starting to
record. It does "know" that the show starts at 12:37 when I check the
settings. I don't think it has ever missed recording L&O or another
prime time series on NBC, certainly not in a long while. What I can do,
if I am still awake as I am now, is leave it on the channel and before
the hour is up go in and if I see it hasn't started recording I can do
that manually and it will get the whole show. Still, the whole point for
me is to not have to stay up to make my dvr work right b/c I really like
to watch Conan with my morning coffee!!

However, thanks for the ideas. Maybe the local news has more control on
over-runs in post prime-time than they do earlier in the evening. I'll
see if they will answer that question.
