I realized even before the show premiered that I wanted to at least
check it out; the more details I heard about this "Conan O'Brien" guy,
the more intrigued I was -- and then, watching "The Chevy Chase Show" a
week before Conan's premiere, I figured out it couldn't be much worse
   than that.

As it turned out, in that first year, there was a group of people in my
college dorm that watched Conan regularly, if only for the comedy
sketches (a lot of people left the room after the "middle bit," unless
there was going to be a good musical guest in the last segment). So it
was that camaraderie more than anything else that kept me in the Conan
   habit.

I rarely get fast food these days, and when I do, I'm generally happy
with the items as they are (really, the only possible condiment item I'm
not a big fan of is mushrooms, but I probably wouldn't order a "mushroom
swiss burger" in the first place). At In-n-Out, though, I do make
amendments to the combo order: "Number One, animal style, fries well
done, vanilla shake." Those are "secret" options, but they've got
buttons on the cash register, and they seem to train their cashiers well
enough that it doesn't take any extra time to handle that.
