Currently, I have a strange affection for the old-time radio singer,
even though the sketch is pretty much the same each time.

A hardcover copy of "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White. Written near the
front is "To Jimmy from Aunt Betsy, Christmas 1979." (I know I got a
matching copy of "Stuart Little" simultaneously, but I don't know what
   happened to it.)

A hardcover of "The Thurber Carnival" by James Thurber, copyright 1945
("This book is complete and unabridged in contents, and is manufactured
in strict conformity with Government regulations for saving paper").
Jacket still there, but not in very good shape, because it's unusually
thin, to save paper. Inherited from my great-grandfather, who helpfully
put two stamps in blue ink on the inside of the back cover: "RECEIVED
FEB 12 1945 J.C. ELLWANGER" and "FROM: JOHN C. ELLWANGER 12 MARION AVE.
   MILLBURN, N.J."
