From: nebusj-@-rpi-.edu              Queen Latifah:        - She put on a blonde wig to get into character for the movie. Conan thinks       he'd be sexier and more confident with black hair.                - Travolta plays the movie in drag. She squeezed on him every day; it's       fun. She wanted to feel his rear every day. He got used to it.                - She was honored in Newark. They went by train to the Performing Arts       Center with a huge banner for the movie; she felt bad for the one time she       jumped the turnstile.                - As a kid she was hanging out in her father's jazz club, smoking cigarettes       and drinking martinis. She wanted to be a truck driver due to a TV       commercial. Conan took a class, and found it fun. Conan found closing your       eyes and heading off to be key.                - She rides the motorcycle with the handlebars as far apart as possible.                      Matt Groening:        - Conan was 11 when he wrote for the show, Bart's breast friend. April 1993       he was at a Simpsons recording room when he found out he got Late Night, and       walked out of the room. They saved the half-eaten sandwich, and all looked on       with great envy.                - They were happy for the first week for him, then the bitterness set in.                - 18 years, more than 400 episodes, one for every day of the year.                - Everyone in the world knows Conan's connection to The Simpsons. Many       catchphrases are worldwide vernacular, particularly D'Oh!                - Groening met the French Homer voice actor (married to their Marge); he       learned the ejaculation as T'oh! The French journalist said ``He does not now       that it is D'oh, short for doughnut.''                - Groening's dad's name is Homer, which Conan didn't know while working       that. How did his dad feel about giving the name to the dumbest character in       pop culture? His father was named for the poet. He loved the character       except one time he called        Homer very angry -- Homer made Marge carry the flat tire through the desert.        Homer choking his own kid, that was fine.                - Groening's son's named Homer. He heard a ``oh''. Conan heard ``t'oh''.        Homer was born about the time the show aired; that was fine till the show got       big, and people would ask the kid's name, and he'd say Homer and people would       laugh of joy at the        kidding. Now his son doesn't go by the name Homer. Or Groening.                - Merchandise! He loves it. And his accountant loves it. It's fun because       there's so much, authorized and unauthorized; people send him the unauthorized       stuff. Conan remembers when they brought in the bootlegged stuff.                - Such horrific stuff made in alleys by people who didn't know what they were       doing, often very fragile. He had a row of Bart Sanchez ones, Bart in       sombreros, but they were all crushed in an earthquake. There was this       disturbing Philippine Bart carved        of wood and painted in shoe polish; they begged him to get rid of it. They       hired the guy to draw.                - There was a time Conan couldn't watch the show without thinking of being in       the room and making it. Now he can watch as a fan.                - Finally, after eighteen years, the joke answer to ``When's the movie coming       out?'' ``Next Friday'' is true.                     Fountains of Wayne:        - ``Traffic and Weather'': Strapped for Cash, I imagine.                     Closing Credits:        - Conan tests the switching speed of the cameras.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
