|    9 October 2007 - Mark Wahlberg, Robbie    |

From: nebusj-@-rpi-.edu              Mark Wahlberg:        - The audience is threatening.                - Not a Yankees crowd. They're both from Boston. He was       teasing a Yankees fan by pretending he didn't care whether the Yankees       won, claiming, they have the Patriots now. Plus there's the dread of       Red Sox playing the Yankees.                - He liked Wahlberg's character in 'The Departed' for being       annoying in a Bostonian way. Wahlberg didn't know it was uniquely       Boston. The tough-talking cop was based on his mother. She always       reminds him he's not cooler than other people.                - His new show's based loosely on his own entourage, though some       stuff couldn't be on TV, particularly as he plans to deny until he dies.        Is the rivalry phase his character has something he went through? It       was. For example his very first $100,000 paycheck from a recording       contract, he bought a $100,000 car and couldn't afford insurance.                - These days an 'Entourage' show about him would be more a       Disney production.                - He started out as Marky Mark; do people still want him to       sing? He knows it from the drumroll of ``Good Vibrations''; it's not as       annoying as it used to be. A friend of his got a three-song example       from his demo, but then after that they tried pulling him up. In the       right situation -- don't get any ideas (``Hit it!'')                - He's been training about a year, an hour and a half a day five       days a week, for his boxing character part. He learned to fight from       his mother early on. But he really took the hits. 'Rocky' looks a bit       staged these days.                - Joaquin Phoenix was here last night yet the studio is still       here. He may get nuts like asking Robert Duvall if he's had his 150th       birthday yet in order to get Duvall to act genuinely angry (I hope).       It's supposed to be a contentious relationship in the film.                     Robbie The Shameless Kiss-Krunk        - The guy pulled out his cell phone, and he's there checking his       messages. 'You wouldn't pull out your phone in church, would you?       Well, this is a church of comedy and Conan is leading the mass.'                He's shameless. 'Flattering! (Is this [ hot dog ] filet       mignon? 'Cause it could be!) Groveling! (You guys [ bathroom       attendants ] are the real heroes!) Fawning! ([ Trump Tower ] is       tasteful!) Suck-Up! (Another great day, God!)'                - And so on. His emergency medical technicians are great. The       studio audience is the greatest. He's not so much a fan of the show,       but the studio audience is the greatest.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
