|    31 October 2007 - Roger Daltrey, Manches    |

From: nebusj-@-rpi-.edu              Roger Daltrey:        - Conan actually bought a drum kit when he was eight and played       along Who albums until he was forced to stop.                - He hasn't seen this new thing. great job promoting it. It'd       be silly for him to see it as he's got his memories of the real thing;       he'd just watch himself, anyway, and not notice anything. It'd be like       home movies and probably feel uncomfortable.                - He hates it when The Who comes on in a pub or the like. But       he seemed to perfect swinging the microphone and doing tricks. He got       very good and could probably take the cigarette out of someone in the       front row. He wouldn't try that now as he couldn't see it. It's       somewhere and if he tweaks it a bit it'll come back somewhere.                - In the special they talk how he loved to fight as a young man.        He still does. Usually people who love fights have to be good at it.                - He and Pete Townsend once got into a serious confrontation       where he broke his guitar over Daltrey's head. That can kill. It was       very funny, and sadly ... they were doing Quadrophenia, and a film crew       was suppost to record the rehearsal. They'd been sitting on their cases       the whole rehearsal; it's hard to do. Townsend had had two or three       bottles of brandy; the film crew is friends. Little scruffle.                - He wouldn't fight. They let him go, he stood there, Pete       Townsend spitting at him. Then Townshend hit him over the head with a       guitar and he still wouldn't fight. Then he started throwing punches;       he was so drunk ... Daltrey threw one punch, Townsend was knocked out.       The next five minutes is blanked by panic. He remembers holding his       hand begging, ``I didn't mean it!'' We laugh about it now.                     Manchester Orchestra:        - I'm like A Virgin Losing a Child (Conan doesn't say what their       album title is): something about have you seen his baby girl, but that       doesn't seem to match any titles.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
