From: nebusj-@-rpi-.edu               I hope everyone had a contented Thanksgiving and day after       and found little reason to shove their cars over a cliff. While       casting about for news on Google News I found nothing noteworthy       except that after entering a search for ``conan o'brien'' all of       the news snippets I got returned a segment in all lowercase. While       I do abhor poor capitalization in things to be read by humans, it's       seemed acceptable to me to use all-lowercase in a system like the       Google News search panel where case is irrelevant and no human will       read the results (past those trawling for statistical significance,       whose data we should garble when we can). I went back and re-entered       the search with ``Conan O'Brien'' and still got everything in       minuscule.               In any case, the most interesting thing I found was some web       forum name of BuddyTV holding a contest wherein the person who, by       the 27th of November, submits the best glimpse into ``what you would       like to see happen in the year 2000'' will win a couple prizes, to       wit:        - 'Phenomenon' poster signed by Uri Gellar and Criss Angel        - Conan O'Brien 10th Anniversary DVD        - Conan O'Brien t-shirt        - Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale               I'm not sure what I do foresee happening by the year 2000,       but I'm sure with effort we could come up with something.              http://forums.buddytv.com/weekly-prize-giveaways/60405-11-21-07-       1-27-07-phenomenon-conan-obrien-jim-gaffigan-contest.html                     --        Joseph Nebus       ------------------------------------------------------------------------------              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
