|    Writers Strike: Day 36 - If this goes on    |
|    10 Dec 07 15:29:50    |
From: nebusj-@-rpi-.edu               Hollywood Reporter is speculating that if the Writers Strike       doesn't clear up by the new year it could have the side effect of       getting the networks to do prime-time news coverage of the presidential       campaigns. NBC already has a whole hour dedicated to the 5 February       string of twenty primaries, and other networks might even do more than       drop in occasional reports in the midst of entertainment programming:              http://www.reuters.com/article/televisionNews/idUSN0620420320071210?sp=true               While I certainly would rather have normal programming, and       don't like the thought of a strike going on for four months, it does       seem to me that network news coverage of a presidential election, if       it were carried out by the grown-ups rather than the hollering idiots       that run cable news, would be a good thing for the nation.              --        Joseph Nebus       ------------------------------------------------------------------------------              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
