   	Word is that Letterman's managed an interim agreement with the   
   writers, so that when he and Ferguson return -- which may be the same   
   2nd January that Leno and Conan are to -- he'll have scripted comedy   
   while Leno and Conan, unless something is arranged, will be flying by   
   their wits.  While Conan can be most entertaining when he's going off   
   on his own, it would be really nice hear of Conaco and Leno's company   
   (Big Dog?  I forget) working hard on interim agreements of their own,   
   but that would require NBC Universal's cooperation.   
      
   	On a side note, in yesterday's rerun during the `Joe's Place'   
   sketch you could see the shadow of the cue cards being swung around.   
   So apparently `Joe's' sketches are, in fact, written.  Who knew?
