This is true. I'm still upset about them giving an extra
five minutes to local TV news stations for their 11:00 silliness.
If we keep giving local news teams attention they're never going to
   learn to grow up.

Anyway, Conan losing to Ferguson for a week is a startling
event given Late Night's long supremacy there and it surely sets off
whining from the people who don't want Conan at The Tonight Show.

One has to admit, though, Craig Ferguson definitely puts in a
lot more effort into his monologues, and the results are better. Late
   Night's are almost ritualized.

There seems to be a new trend to have the monologue end with a
little video clip or minor comic segment, and that's opening things up
some. I hope they keep that up, and maybe consider doing away with the
Bush dumb, Bill Clinton horny, Paris Hilton slutty opening routine. It
was a lot more exciting during the strike when Conan opened by rambling
on whatever was on his mind; let's see more of that.
