Reruns of ancient episodes would be great fun to see again, but
no, particularly not with the changes in format of the show they wouldn't
   get to appear.

As I recall, though, the subtext to showing Letterman's Very First
Shows for the two weeks between the debut of Late Show, the start of The
Chevy Chase Sacrificial Lamb, and the start of Late Night With Conan
O'Brien was to make the point that Letterman didn't start out firing on
all cylinders and wasn't immediately recognizable as the entertainment
force he'd turn out to be. So it served as a way of preemptively
answering critics before anyone could know that Chevy Chase would be a
   much bigger, easier target.

NBC had good reasons to point out how Letterman grew into his
role as Letterman decamped to CBS. Pointing out how Conan did too would
be ... not quite so advisable when he's just moving to earlier on NBC.
