   C02 (and the methane being released from tundra areas) help the   
   atmosphere to stay warm.  Thanks to us, C02 levels are the highest   
   they've been for many an aeon. So, it's likely that they are helping   
   along the natural warming phase we seem to be in. it's not at all   
   arrogant to say we are helping the planet to heat up a bit....but it is   
   silly to say that global warming is all down to man. it's not silly to   
   be concerned that ever higher levels of C02 (and methane) may take us   
   into climate areas that may cause humanoids some discomfort.   
      
   it is silly to extrapolate that the earth will be some insane hot house   
   in 100 years. we will find some techno fixes way before then. 1 of these   
   was proposed circa 1989 and is being raised again; the cost, then, was   
   put at a mere 2 or 3 years of the global military budget. the project?   
   to produce a thin aluminium blanket the size of the US.   
      
   the other idea of 1989 was to use exploding rockets to stuff the   
   atmosphere with light/heat reflective dust. that idea is back on the   
   agenda, i see.   
      
   none of this excuses bush from being a rather vacuous 'leader' who puts   
   the commercial and political interests of various people ahead of wider   
   interests.
