From: henrydarker1@gmail.com              There is a festive article in today's (26th Dec) UK daily newspaper "ipaper",       (and probably it's sister paper the "Independent") titled 'Forgotten       Crackers', by Pierre Perrone about neglected festive tracks. Included is FZ,       his section below... thers a        photo of FZ too.              Frank Zappa Xmas Values       Civilization Phaze III - 1994       More musique concrète than the Sgt Pepper's-bothering We're Only in it for the       Money that made the top 30 on both sides of the Atlantic in 1968 and helped to       establish the maverick leader of the Mothers of Invention, this album was the       first of 30 -        count them - posthumous releases. It charted in Germany but is a million miles       removed from the proto-jazz fusion of "Peaches En Regalia" from his 1969 Hot       Rats album, beloved of broadcasters Danny Baker and Mark Riley.                     The other tracks mentioned are: The Supremes 'My Christmas Tree; The Who       'Christmas'; The Residents 'Santa Dog'; The Rolling Stones 'Winter'; The       Damned 'There Ain't No Sanity Clause'; Chiago 'Child's Prayer'; America       'Christmas In California'; Manic        Street Preachers 'The Ghostr of Christmas'; Earth, Wind & Fire 'December'.              Martin...........              nd: coffee       np: Matthew Halsall-Fletcher 'Moss Park'              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
