Without the accident, I think the Flo & Eddie lineup       would have just gone on and permutated into other lineups, the way the       large early-1973 Mothers just kind of added and subtracted members until       ending up as the Bongo Fury band and so on. In the aftermath of the       London incident was definitely one of the more abrupt overall lineup (to       say nothing of stylistic) changes of FZ's career. Ian and Aynsley stayed       on to work with FZ in 1972, perhaps more of the band would have hung       around longer without the layoff. Who knows.              On a related note, I also still find it somewhat remarkable how much       music FZ still managed to compose in the months between the accident and       the rehearsals on "Joe's Domage," while injured and / or recovering.              How's this for an Old Geezer-style post... Were.. Sorry, WUZ the lyrics       of "It Just Might Be A One Shot Deal" somehow inspired by FZ's use of       painkillers while recovering from his injuries? I've half-seriously       wondered about this once or twice, but, hey, who knows.              --derek.                     ---       This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software.       https://www.avast.com/antivirus              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
