The '88 show at the Wembley Arena was OK -       the band was good and so were some of the solos (especially the encores)       but the venue was bigger than I like and I thought then (and still think)       the FZ was already noticing the cancer creeping up on him and       consequently wasn't at the top of his form.              I was also at the LSO concert at the Barbican Theatre after the LSO       sessions had been recorded, and an excellent Ensemble Moderne concert in       the QEH. The Barbican concert was OK, though the encore FZ conducted       was, I thought, better since he managed to get a bit more life out of the       LSO than Nagano. The EM concert was magic - they were a very good band       and played the YS material with considerable enthusiasm. I'll also admit       to liking CP3.              I've also seen a couple of ZpZ concerts at the Corn Exchange in       Cambridge, which were both excellent. Its about time they came over here       again.                     --       martin@ | Martin Gregorie       gregorie. | Essex, UK       org |              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
