TCM stands for Turner Classic Movies which is a cable TV channel here in the
USA that shows classic movies (with NO commercial interruptions)spanning from
the 1920's to the 1970's. About 20 years ago TV Mogul Ted Turner purchased
   the complete MGM Movie
catalog (including everything else)and started his own cable channel. It
features different genres... ie: different stars, themes, etc. from time to
time but most of the time is random. It could show a John Wayne Western
followed by a Cary Grant comedy,
a Ida Lupino melodrama or show nothing but film noir for a day. It is the
ONLY TV channel I watch outside of Baseball or American (REAL) Football! It
is when Hollywood programmed movies for Adults not 12 year olds. I cannot
   recall the last time I
went to a movie theater to watch a recent movie. It may have been that Clint
Eastwood movie "Gran Torino"...and that was 8 years ago. I do not want to see
movies based on comic books or car chase movies. Give me William Powell &
   Myrna Loy anyday!!!
