Note that the forum on       zappa.com is far more active than this one (though, I must admit I've not been       on it in a long while        and that may no longer be the case).              You mean "like this"....?              (Reprinted from a 2013 post)              Went to my colleges' 40th reunion the other night & ran into a couple       of old hippies I used to DJ with at the       college radio station. (They still had the long hair with the bald       head...the Benjamin Franklin look.) Naturally, I steered the       conversation around to Zappa &       found out they were both die hard MOI fans but Stopped at favorable       things to       say about Frank after 1972 & the JABFLA Lp. I told them that I was       once like       them but discovered there was life to Zappa's music after Flo & Eddie       hard to believe) & that       they should explore it! But they were INSISTENT in their viewpoint &       could not       be swayed! Frank mentions this phenomena in the liner notes of       YCDTOSA 5       concerning the existence of such people! Why is this? Were they just       two old       fuddy-duddy hippies living in the past (you know, rock music stopped       in 1975,       that sort of thing) or is this peculiar to Zappa fans/ mystique       only????? I       know...              But...but....I may be agreeing with them now. Is this a sign of "old age"...?              thoughts..........       comments................                     the OLD geezer              ND: Victory Hop Devil IPA       NP: Dust To Dust - Steve Roach & Gabby Hayes              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
