Its hard to tell. I read the hand-written record details in the 1996 CD
set's booklet as meaning that Leather/Lather was a studio album recorded
over a number of sessions with varying band membership over several
sessions. If that is correct it would explain the different lineups
rather nicely. However, I'm listening to disk 1 at present and although
many tracks sound like studio recordings some, like Broken Hearts Are For
Aassholes and Illinois Enema Bandit do have audience noise but its so far
down in the mix that you need to listen very carefully indeed to hear it.

So it seems that Lather is a compilation of songs recorded on different
tours over a few years because FZ band's members didn't seem to change
much, if at all, during a tour.
