From: bilh@pd.jaring.my              The Hot Rats Sessions 6-CD set must be official release 112, or thereabouts.              Track 7 Disc 5, 'The origin of Hot Rats' has FZ giving his version of the       album title 'Hot Rats'.                     You'll recall that on p. 210 of Charles Ulrich's _The Big Note_ CU states       that the title 'came from Beefheart's improvised lyrics at the end of "Willie       the Pimp."              On Track 7, Disc 5, you hear FZ say that 'hot rats' was his image of the sound       of Archie Shepp's saxophone on 'Shadow of your smile' (aka the theme from 'The       Sandpiper).                     Amongst the rest are various radio promos, including one that is referenced by       Charles Ulrich on p 211 of TBN giving the official version of the name       'Peaches en regalia'.                     My dau found my 'The Hot Rats Sessions' set for Euro139 at a record shop in       Dublin. USD125, I understand, in other places.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
