Maoist ideology is what       ultimately led to the creation of Gulags, and both Fascism and Maoism       are based on flavors of Socialism. Most Socialists will deny this, or       even claim that Socialism is a form of Anarchism, but it's not. A       Socialist society cannot function without a State to enforce it.              Even under ideal conditions, you basically have to turn everyone into       tang. (That's a joke, son, it's a reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion's       finale, End of Evangelion.)              Now Anarchy, on the other hand, is inherently individualist, and since       every individual is free to govern him or herself as he or she sees fit,       so long as it does not infringe on anyone else (in which case, that       person has every right to kick ass and chew bubble gum), it's       sustainable even in a semi-educated public. You don't need a       perfectly-educated or even responsible public to maintain an Anarchist       society.              If everyone was sane, educated, responsible and self-disciplined, you       wouldn't even notice that there was no central government making people       pretend they aren't complete monsters. But that's incredibly unlikely to       happen, so instead, you remove the restraints, give everyone guns,       explosives, aircraft and lots of booze and drugs, and let them destroy       themselves and each other. The sane and/or intelligent ones can live       comfortably in a tornado or bomb shelter for about 20 years or so. By 40       years, things should have quieted down.              It's not rocket science.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
