   It's like how some american otaku like to say that mainstream society   
   things anime is 100% about naughty tentacles. While the Japanese   
   generally are strange in a lot of ways, anime and manga are becoming   
   very mainstream, with lots of animesque cartoons coming out and being   
   aired on disney, cartoon network and nickelodeon.   
      
   Everyone loves anime. Both anime and furry are becoming mainstream.   
   Just because a minority of the mainstream think they are perverted,   
   doesn't mean mainstream society does. If you really think about it,   
   Christianity is a subculture, too, and a fandom, a fandom of Jesus.   
      
   Fandoms are not always nice. Even if Jesus was the coolest dude in the   
   world, he can still have a very questionable fandom.
