   I grew up in the foster care system under the State. Call it what you want,   
    what I survived in was a State orphanage.   
      
   People learned not to touch me when I reacted by gouging the "direct care   
    providers" (orderlies) in their face, scarring them for life, and endowing   
    them with multiple fractures and dislocations. It took seven fully grown   
    men built like quarterbacks four times my weight and three times my age to   
    restrain me, a scrawny little 10 year old kid, and very high doses of   
    haloperidol stuck with a syringe in the ass to sedate me.   
      
   No one ever touched me, ever.   
      
   But I changed. I like cuddles now. I still hate the State with every fiber   
    of my being, but I love the fandom. I feel safe here.
