   I remember a few years back I saw a very popular twitter troll suddenly   
   declare that they were a "furry", not out of any affinity for anthropomorphic   
   animals, but as a means to get 'punk cred' on social media. Now furry is   
   another identity to throw in    
   your bio to show how different and cool you are. The people who like to do   
   this also spend a lot of times arguing about politics online.
