   This letter pretty much resumes the climate of the fandom in 2001, when the   
   burned furs talked about gatekeeping those who "hijacked" the anthropomorphic   
   community and turned it into the "furry" community : "lifestylers", sexual   
   deviants, gays,    
   plushophiles etc.    
      
   With all this internal drama between factions and  bad press and media   
   coverage, surely it was not a good time to become a furry.
