People can't love on command, we       either do or we don't. Gene Scott often said that love and hate are not       opposites, but the opposite        of both is indifference. I agree, I wonder where he read that. It's probably       easier to genuinely love if one can remember having been Bathing at Baxter's!       When most people say they love God, they speak in terms of what God does for       them, has done for them, and/or what they hope God will do for them. I don't       know how often any of us love God simply because God is Beautiful, is Beauty       itself. I myself spend        way too much time thinking of my own wretchedness and the wretchedness of       others.              Think of a child who loves their parents. Yes their parents do everything for       them, but that's not why they love their parents. They simply do.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
