It seemed like       dozens of people got up in a panic to flee out of there. He must have known       there were a lot of guests        that day and was suspicious about them. Maybe a group of some affiliation       booked reservations to check Doc out that day? I suspect they actually thought       John was singing fuck instead funk. It was a good laugh.       > Matt2442:        > I had left the church by then but I do recall that song. I       don't recall a bunch of people leaving though.              I remember the song too, from the first time he had them sing it, and do not       remember anyone leaving. I do remember an attitude of general agreement, like       a collective 'yeah', get the funk out. And, of course, funk was meant to be       interpreted as get        the fuck out, Scott used to hold up several fingers and say this is multiples       of the one finger salute. He was a little boy in way over his head... what is       that, 'the Peter Principle', rising to the level of one's incompetence, he       certainly did, and he        dug a hole for himself and just kept digging. Melissa keeps digging the hole       he left for her. The only one who got 'it' after thirty five years, 'it'       never having been defined, what ever it is... Angry angry people they are       thinking the world owes        them for their existence for which everyone must pay.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
