   God established the nation of Israel we see today. I think it's a safe bet   
   that God knows who He wanted to be there, and who He wanted to posses the land   
   He promised to Abraham and his descendants. Or, do you think God isn't in   
   control?   
      
   God has NOT abandoned Israel and cut Israel off...   
      
   Ezekiel 36;   
      
   24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all   
   countries, and will bring you into your own land.   
   25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all   
   your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.   
   26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:   
   and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an   
   heart of flesh.   
   27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes,   
   and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.   
   28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be   
   my people, and I will be your God.   
   29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the   
   corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.   
   30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field,   
   that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.   
   31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not   
   good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for   
   your abominations.   
   32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be   
   ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

   "And I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far   
   north, and bring your against the mountains of Israel. Then I will knock the   
   bow out of your left hand and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand.    
      
   You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and your troops and the   
   people who are with you, I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to   
   the beasts of the field to be devoured. You shall fall on the open field, for   
   I have spoken, says the    
   Lord God.    
      
   So I will make My holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will   
   not let them profane my holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I   
   am the Lord, the Holy one of Israel."

   Psalms 89:3-4   
      
   "I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,   
   Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all   
   generations. Selah."   
      
   NOTE: "establish for ever"..."FOR EVER" MEANS FOR EVER! NEVER ENDING!   
      
   God has also stated that He would give them the land forever because He has   
   simply decided to do so as an act of His sovereign will, NO MATTER WHAT THEY   
   DID...

   ...AND, THE WHOLE CHAPTER speaks of God's everlasting covenant with His   
   people, Israel.
