   Hey, I resemble that remark.

'though for the first time in a while, I'm not going to whine about his
whining. I thought this letter hit it's mark. He's no Rainer Rilke but he
struck a decent balance between bitchiness and humility imo.

If you have something as powerful as the American media, and it's running
completely amuck of what it set out to do, and what it claims to do, then I
don't think someone is whining when they make a stand. I wish George took
the high road with Heston (or at least handled it better), and I really wish
he ignored Bill O'Windbag -er Reilly -but why *shouldn't* he demand better
coverage of election issues? And point out when reporters aren't doing their
job? If voters don't do these things, no one will.

I'm so sure this will result in eggs being thrown at my head, but I'll say
it anyway... we're willing to send teenagers off to war in order to protect
democracy, but asking for better election/political coverage (a vital
cornerstone of democracy) is wrong, "whiny", and we ought to just shut up?
   Thas some whack sh*t yo.

Since I have the mental maturity of a ten yr old (see above imitation of
Vanilla Ice if you have any doubts), I *liked* George's comments here :-).
Sure, he lacks the profound cosmic genius that is The Daily Show, but it's
the same idea ..take the piss out of something stupid and have a laugh at
the same time. I can get behind that!
