   Big fat DITTO to everything up-thread that I snipped, but this is something   
   I'm still willing to believe. He really *wasn't* very famous in Europe yet.   
   And it's easy to be out of touch when you're a working student. When was   
   that, '96? I was in school then and I *barely* knew who he was ..and I was   
   in LA, part-timing as a PA. It's totally reasonable, imo, that a French   
   waitress wouldn't recognize him. Esp one as naturally clueless as Celine   
   seems to be (meow :)).   
      
   Her boss was in the business of attracting celebs and jet-setters so he   
   should have been able to recognize GC. He also probably got a tip that   
   Hollywood stars were filming in Paris and to be on the lookout for them.
