   George Clooney has been linked to the movie adaptation of broadcaster   
   Garrison Keillor's radio show 'A Prairie Home Companion'.   
      
   Speaking to The Chicago Tribune, the film's director, Robert Altman, said   
   that Clooney would play detective Guy Noir if "the timing is right for his   
   schedule".   
      
   Keillor is writing the screenplay for the film, with Meryl Streep, Lily   
   Tomlin, Tom Waits and Lyle Lovett already cast.   
      
   Production on the film is due to begin in Minnesota in January.
